Artist Statement and Contact

As a Canadian watercolour artist, born in Montreal and living in and east of Toronto, my watercolour reflects a constant shift between the vibrancy of urban living and the solitude of nature. My work often depicts the delicate balance between natural elements and human-made structures.

My brushes and I have travelled to many countries around the world and I try to recreate the moments where light and shadow intersect in tiny villages, city streets and even people’s faces. From the overcrowded urban cityscape to the stillness of a frozen Northern lake, I seek to capture the moments that cause me to pause in the hopes that I can translate a rhythm of soft edges, colour and transparency on paper.

Though brushstrokes can never replace the moment, I hope I can reflect, through emotion on the page, an image that transports the viewer to a special memory in time.
